stacy + eric | key west
Stacy and Eric chose Key West for obvious reasons, but also because of the massive historical significance there. Their ceremony was planned to be within Fort Zachary Taylor State Park– originally a Civil War fort built in the 1800’s. It’s been beautifully preserved and maintained- the perfect spot for beach lovers and history buffs. They were married on the beach near the fort and they chose a first look pre-ceremony to have time to enjoy all that Fort Zach offered. It was the perfect choice: not only was it idyllic, but the fort provided plenty of shade from the abundant tropical sunshine. And offered a completely different look from the beach-vibe, all within a short walk.
The evening of the ceremony was like something out of a storybook: the skies were clear, the sun was just starting to set and the tradewinds added the perfect amount of breeze. The graceful palms were swaying… making that soft, whispery sound they make when the salty air is moving gently off the water. The beach, unlike most beaches you might imagine, wasn’t just a barren expanse of sand. It had character, with rocks and palms that added interest and texture. Perfection. The ceremony was full of all the good and wonderful things Eric and Stacy are… it was sweet, personal, unique and funny. There were tears. There was laughter. There were sailboats and conch shells. It was sublime.
