a magical wedding day in midland, mi

Remember Elizabeth and Mike's gorgeous engagement session post in Northern Michigan?  If you need a reminder (or just want to see them again because they were BEAUTIFUL), head over here for those pretty pictures.  You won't regret it!

I knew that their wedding day was going to be planned perfectly down to the very last detail... she planned our engagement session road trip down to the very last tiny detail.  Still, she didn't want to leave anything to chance, so she hired Lynn from W.E.D to plan the wedding.  Lynn beautifully worked in plenty of time for everything (including rain, which we were definitely blessed with!).  Elizabeth knew how to embrace the unexpected, though... she grabbed the umbrella and ran out to meet Mike for their first look, without even a bit of hesitation.  It was quite romantic, actually... the raindrops gently falling and Elizabeth and Mike barely even taking notice.  It was pretty obvious that they couldn't care less!

The wedding was held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Midland and was a beautiful, unique ceremony.  They even had their best furry friend along to witness their vows and she was on her best behavior.  :)

After, they headed to Dow Gardens for more photos and Dahlia Hill, a stunning dahlia garden along the way that Elizabeth helps tend in her spare time.  Dahlias are just magical!  They were the perfect backdrop for photos and held special significance for Elizabeth- always my favorite type of location.  Following that, it was off to the reception at the Grand in Essexville, where they partied long into the night.  The space was accented by more dahlias, with personal touches like chemistry table markers and custom homemade brew favors.  A bit more rain didn't stop them from lighting sparklers at night's end... the perfect sendoff for a wonderful couple.

Here are some favorites... I hope you enjoy them!
